Not much has been going on lately. Harrison has been good…I passed my kidney stone…whooo hooo! Really…not much has been going on lately. I know- this is exciting stuff!
Amy came out with just a slight headache and even milder ache in her side.
On our way to Panera…
First they drew blood for tests. Then a nurse poked her twice to get the IV started with no luck. Finally the 2nd nurse got it going on her first try.
Feeling kind of silly, Amy feels like she needs to hold her hand out like this to avoid messing things up. She is also waving at people as they go by.
Surgery is scheduled for 11:30…a half hour or so to go!
Amy has been down since 4am with more stone pain. We’d hoped she’d get by until the operation tomorrow. Tomorrow, they will blast the stones in one of her kidneys, the one giving her the pain now. Don’t know what they will do about the one causing the pain. I suppose they will go up and grab it out.
We suspect she will be put out completely while they pass shock waves through her body and into the stones. We are hopeful that this will bring the ultimate relief from the stones on that side. We will have to go back to get the other kidney blasted in a few weeks.
Will post updates here tomorrow on how things go. Say a prayer…thanks.
Yep, more kidney stone pain. This is the third day in a row that I have been on pain medication. Sunday and today Kelly took care of Harrison and on Monday, our friend Linda was a life saver. She came over Monday morning and ended up taking me to the ER around noon. She watched Harrison the whole time until Kelly got home at 4:30 (he was working on some video stuff that he had committed to earlier). Thank you, Linda!! (My mom says thank you, too!)
I am scheduled to go in on Monday the 29th to get the stones blasted. The CAT scan from 2 weeks ago shows I have 2 on each side that are fairly good size. One of those is moving and that’s what is causing the pain. I have some pain meds that I can take in the mean time, but it sure interrupts everything as I pretty much have to lay down for several hours.
Harrison is doing well. I uploaded some pictures to Flickr, so click on the pics to the right and they will show you the new ones.
