We got Harrison a Little People Nativity and got it out today for the first time. He had a lot of fun with it. We were wondering if he would do anything funny with it, and he ended up putting all of the animals and people in a line. This is how I found it when I got home from the store tonight (Harrison was already in bed- I’ll have to get some pictures of him playing with it later).
I think he liked it. Kelly got a real kick out of teaching him to call the donkey an ass. Yes, my two year old son was walking around calling his Little People Nativity Scene donkey an ass. And he said it plain as day. I have to admit I was laughing pretty hard…for like 30 seconds. Then I felt like I should put a stop to it. Just from our reaction, he knew it was funny. And that he shouldn’t be saying it.
He is now calling it a donkey, and hopefully won’t remember what daddy called it. Especially at just the right time, like in Sunday School or something. ![]()
Not too much going on on this Thanksgiving Eve. Harrison is in bed already. I’m in the middle of making some oatmeal rolls…mmmmm, one of my favorites at the holidays.
We’ll be joining some gracious friends and their family tomorrow to share in a Thanksgiving celebration.
We truly have so much to be thankful for.
And, I read today over on Jody’s blog that Water For Christmas hit $10,000 sometime today. That means TWO wells! Two wells for two communities that do not have clean water today. Soon they will. How awesome is that?
Jody also has a challenge for us as we approach Black Friday. I am in! I really can’t stand shopping on Black Friday anyway, but now it really has a new meaning for me. I saw a commercial tonight for a store opening TOMORROW at 7:00 am. What? A few years ago it was 7:00 on Friday morning. Then it became 6:00 am. Then 4:00 am. Last year I heard of stores opening at midnight. And now Thanksgiving Day?
Let’s at least give Thanksgiving the respect it deserves. To stop and share a meal, and a day, with those we love. To think about how much we truly have to be thankful for.
I really have no idea who this guy is, but I think this is hilarious.
Well, our “weekend” is coming to a close tonight. Bummer. It always goes so fast. But it’s always a good day when you get an escrow reimbursement check for $75 from your mortgage company, and a statement showing your house payment will actually go down by a couple bucks each month starting in January. :) That was a nice surprise.
I have some pictures I need to put up-will try to do that tomorrow. Not too much else going on. Just getting ready for Thanksgiving and a few extra days together as a family. Looking forward to that.
Good night, Muscatine.
