We decided that since Harrison is getting closer to walking, we’d better get him some ‘real’ tennis shoes. He is doing ok with them…he is still wondering what these things are on his feet and why he can’t get these off like all of the other shoes mom and dad put on him.
Oh, wait, I can get them off!
I love the Food Network. I just love all the shows and watching people make these food creations and all of the interesting facts, and I like watching the tv personalities, too. One of my favorites (and Kelly’s, too) is Alton Brown on Good Eats and Feasting on Asphalt. We even considered Alton for a boys name when we were deciding on what to name Harrison. Now, I was truly disappointed when MPW took the Food Network off of their basic cable lineup several months ago…I have been without it since then. Not the most horrible of things, but when you’re home during the day I could use a little Food TV instead of soaps (which I don’t watch) and The Weather Channel. Anyway, I was looking at their web-site last night and saw that Alton Brown is doing a Feasting on Asphalt II. They travel over a period of 10 days or so and visit as many off the beaten path and downhome eateries as possible. The second season of the show is River Road, where they start in Louisiana and travel the Mississippi River to its starting point and visit eateries along the way. “Hmmm”, I thought to myself, “no way would they stop in little ol’ Muscatine, would they?” I checked out the web-site, and lo-and-behold, they stop in Muscatine!!! Alton Brown was here in May sometime and visited the Clam Shell diner and they have a button history lesson (which could be the museum or a factory, not really sure where they go for sure). Anyway, Alton Brown was here and I missed him!! But Muscatine is going to be on the show in Episode 5…you can read more about it here. Just go to the bottom of the page and click on the Episode Guide #5. I believe the show will air on Sept. 1 at 8:00. The first one airs this Saturday, August 4th at 8 central time.
I just think that is super exciting! Anyway, just thought I would post about it so if there are any fellow foodies out there that would enjoy seeing the show, you would know about it. Oh, and last night we signed up for the Dish Network.

He’s sad in these last two because I won’t let him play with the camera.

Harrison has been drinking out of a sippy cup, but sometimes he still gets confused.
He scrunches up his nose sometimes when he smiles.
I love that smile!!
He is wanting out of his highchair at this point.
Kelly told me last night that downloading the pictures from our new camera should be exactly the same as it was before…well it’s not. I took several pictures this afternoon and can only seem to get one downloaded. I don’t know what the deal is. So, I will have to wait until Kelly gets home to get more put up. Sorry!

Just today Harrison has started standing on his own. He was doing it before for just a second or two, but today he did it several times and for a long time! I have a feeling that walking is just around the corner!
We got our new camera today! Kelly’s dad gets points through his work and is able to use those points on all kinds of things…including cameras. After making a plea to him about our broken camera, he gladly let us use some of the points on a new camera. I don’t think he wanted to go any longer without seeing pictures of his grandbaby, either! So, we ordered one that is the same model as our old one, just a newer version. I’ve already taken some pictures and will put those up soon. They look good so far. Thanks Papa Gubser!
