Grandpa and Grandma Osburn are here for a visit…went to the melon shed for some pumpkin pictures on a perfect fall day and we are having fun watching Harrison discover his hands. He is totally mezmerized by these things that are attached to his arms (see top picture). A new toy! Click on the flicker pictures to the right for more…
If you freaked out like I did when I first saw the picture of Harrison getting wings, Kelly quickly informed me that it is just ketchup…not actually hot sauce.
And, yes, Kelly did actually think that Nussle Vander Plaats is a real person running for Iowa governor, even though we saw Jim Nussle in person when we saw President Bush a couple of years ago. It took me a long time to convince him that it was two people and that they were using just the last names on the signs. You can tell we follow politics VERY closely.
Amy informed me that Nussle Vander Plaats is not a real person. Rather, it is Jim Nussle running for IA governor and Bob Vander Plaats is his running mate.
Happy two month birthday, Harrison! It is so wonderful to see you growing and changing everyday, and we think you are so special. We love you, love you, love you and pray God will be with you all of your days. Mom and Dad
They weighed Harrison while we were at the doctor’s and he is up to 10 lbs, 10 oz. He’s catching up!
I was trimming Harrison’s nails and took out a little tiny piece of skin of his little pinky. He immediately started screaming and didn’t stop for about 30 minutes. I feel horrible. It didn’t stop bleeding either, so I called the doctor and went in for them to look at it. It just took a while to stop bleeding, but it finally did and they said it would be fine. I knew I would do that at some point and have been extrememly careful while doing it…it is a horrible feeling. But, he is pretty much calmed down now.
As for my van, we found out it needs a new battery, new front brakes and a new catilytic (sp?) converter. For parts only for all of these, it would be about $1,000. So, luckily we have a mechanic in the family and he said we would be fine until we get back to Nebraska the first week of November and he would be able to work on it. Thank goodness for family. Now pray that nothing goes wrong before then!!
Feeling a bit weary tonight, and I think Kelly is too. He has been taking care of Harrison a lot, too, when he is home, and we are both tired. We have been bickering some today, which doesn’t help the atmosphere. Hoping for a good night’s sleep for all of us tonight.
Kelly’s truck ‘check engine’ light came on yesterday and we had to get some tune up work done to it-it could have been worse, but it was still over $400. When we went to pick it up today I wasn’t even out of the parking lot and my van’s ‘check engine’ light came on. That will make you weary, too. Hoping it is nothing more serious than a tune up or something like that. We’ll find out tomorrow.
